Idea

General Quiz App is an engaging mobile application that allows users to create accounts and participate in daily trivia challenges. Each question can be accompanied by an optional hint and the ability to remove two incorrect answers, both impacting the point value earned for a correct response. A dynamic leaderboard tracks users' weekly progress and resets every seven days, fostering healthy competition. Additionally, users can create groups and invite friends to join, enhancing the social aspect of the app.

Flowchart

From the initial concept of General Quiz App, I began developing a comprehensive flowchart detailing the entire user journey and app functionality. This involved mapping out every action a user could take within the app, from creating an account and navigating the interface to answering daily trivia questions, utilizing hints, and removing answer options. The flowchart also accounted for external functions, such as the weekly leaderboard reset, group creation, and friend invitations, ensuring a seamless and engaging experience for users. This meticulous planning process served as a blueprint for the app's development, allowing for efficient coding and minimizing potential errors or inconsistencies in the final product.

Design

Upon completion of the flowchart, I embarked on crafting an intuitive and user-friendly design for General Quiz App. Guided by established UX research principles, I meticulously designed each screen and interaction to ensure a seamless user experience. This involved incorporating clear visual cues, intuitive navigation pathways, and responsive feedback mechanisms. The design process also prioritized accessibility, ensuring that the app could be easily used by individuals with varying abilities. By adhering to UX research findings and best practices, the resulting design not only met the functional requirements of the app but also provided an enjoyable and engaging experience for users.

Development

I commenced the development of the backend functionality and core logic of the General Quiz App application. In alignment with the client's preference for a low-maintenance and easily manageable solution, I opted to utilize Adalo as the platform for development. This choice allowed for rapid development and deployment, while still ensuring the app's stability and performance. The backend development process involved setting up databases, establishing API endpoints, and implementing the necessary logic for user authentication, question generation, scoring, leaderboard updates, and group management. By leveraging Adalo's intuitive interface and pre-built components, I was able to streamline the development process and deliver a fully functional and user-friendly app within a reasonable timeframe.
